Master Cup China Beer Tournament (hereinafter referred to as the Master Cup) is China's only nationwide large-scale beer competition, initiated in 2012 by Gao Yan, the author of the book *Brew Your Own Beer*. The Master Cup is a public welfare project launched by beer enthusiasts, managed by beer enthusiasts, and dedicated to serving beer enthusiasts. It has been held without interruption since its inception. The mission of the Master Cup is to promote the development of China's craft beer industry.
What sets the Master Cup apart from other global beer competitions is its focus on awarding brewers rather than beers. The Master Cup is committed to discovering China's master brewers. The competition is divided into two categories: homebrew and professional. Participants must compete in nationwide touring preliminaries to qualify for the intense finals, where they vie for the titles of Annual Champion and Best Brewer of the Year.
The Master Cup is renowned for its unique and rigorous competition system, as well as its professional and comprehensive event process system. The Master Cup has independently developed a beer competition evaluation system that integrates various functions such as competition registration, judging, feedback, and event announcements. Additionally, the Master Cup boasts the largest database in China for judges, participants, and entry information.
The judging team of the Master Cup is composed of China's most elite judges, including BJCP (Beer Judge Certification Program) certified judges, international beer sommeliers, professional brewers, andbeer industry media professionals. This diverse and highly qualified panel ensures the highest standards of evaluation and fairness in the competition.
